Thank you for supporting
Hartley's Winter Breakfast.
Hartleys' Community Meals Program
Hartley’s Meals provides free and low-cost meals to vulnerable members of the community. Our dining room offers a daily changing menu and is open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch all year round (including Christmas Day). The service appeals to people who are seeking a warm meal, and a safe place enjoy it.
During winter, Hartley's runs a daily breakfast in the winter months and Deakin House are trying to raise $10,000 so Uniting can extend the program by a month, enabling more people to access a hot breakfast this year.
The friendly café setting lends itself to being a social hub for our diverse community members who wish to engage with other members from the community.
For many who come to Hartley’s Meal, it might be their only meal and social interaction for the day. Hartley’s Meals plays a role in helping to reduce food insecurity in the local community and break down the stigma around homelessness and mental health related issues.
Hartley’s Meals is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers who serve and help prepare the meals. The volunteer team are also there to have casual chat to consumers and inform them of other Uniting services such as our Emergency Relief and Op Shops.
Along with supporting the vulnerable members of the community by providing meals, Hartley’s Meals dining room provides positive volunteering experiences for those in the community who are wanting to give back.
All donations will go towards helping us continue to supply meals to those in the community who need it the most.
