Hosting an Event to Support Uniting Vic.Tas
Ballarat, VIC — “Community of Mugs – Cups for Pete,” is a heartfelt exhibition
celebrating the legacy of master potter Peter Pilven. Peter had an extensive career
as a ceramic artist and taught generations of students at Federation University,
where he was a beloved teacher and mentor. The exhibition will run from
Wednesday, 5 November to Saturday, 29 November 2025, at TBH Studio, 57 Bridge
Mall, Ballarat Central. The official opening will take place on Saturday, 15 November,
from 2 pm to 4 pm at TBH Studio.
Developed and curated by Peter’s former students, Claire Blake and Peter Thomas,
this special event brings together a vibrant collection of handmade coffee mugs and
2D artworks. The exhibition honours Peter Pilven’s passion for collecting handmade
coffee mugs and his support of charities including Beyond Blue and Uniting Care.
All works have been created by a diverse group of artists, including family and
friends, former students and peers. Every piece will be available for purchase, with
100% of proceeds donated to Beyond Blue and Uniting Care—two charities Peter
supported passionately.
Join us in celebrating Peter Pilven’s legacy, supporting vital causes, and discovering
unique, handcrafted art.
