As the auspice agency for the CHHA, Uniting Vic.Tas is supporting this event by coordinating registrations and collecting donations for distribution across the CHHA agencies.
31 July | Llanberris Athletics Reserve
Why a sleepout?
When the temperature drops, thousands of people across the Central Highlands face the reality of not knowing where they'll sleep that night.
More than 5,000 local people experience homelessness or housing insecurity. Some sleep in cars, tents, or temporary accommodation. Others move from couch to couch, relying on the generosity of family and friends. Many remain hidden from public view, but their struggle is real.
The One Night Outside event brings our community together to stand in solidarity and take meaningful action. While one night outdoors cannot replicate the experience of homelessness, it offers a powerful opportunity to reflect, raise awareness, and spark important conversations about housing insecurity in our region.
By giving up the comfort of your bed for one night, you'll help generate vital funds through sponsorships and donations, supporting local services and initiatives that assist people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Together, we can shine a light on this critical issue and help create a future where everyone in the Central Highlands has a safe and secure place to call home.
